In the first half year 2017 the agricultural production in farms of all types (agricultural organisations, private farms and household plots) at current prices was BYN 5.3 billion, or 99.2% of the level of the first half year 2016 at constant prices. The agricultural production in agricultural organisations was BYN 5 billion, or 99.9% at constant prices compared with the same period of the previous year.
Fodder conservation is in progress. As at 1st July 2017, 2.2 million tonnes of feed units of grass fodder were procured in agricultural organisations, or 79.5% compared with 1st July 2016. Thus, 6.7 centners of feed units were procured per livestock unit of public livestock (as at 1st July 2016 – 8.4 centners).
The production (raising) of livestock and poultry (in live weight) in farms of all types was recorded at 903.8 thous. tonnes, an increase of 2.5% compared with the first half year 2016; the milk production was at 3624.6 thous. tonnes (+2.2%).
The production (raising) of livestock and poultry (in live weight) by agricultural organisations was at 860.5 thous. tonnes, an increase of 3% compared with the first half year 2016. The milk production was at 3471.4 thous. tonnes, +2.9% compared with the same period of the previous year.
As at 1st July 2017 the cattle population in agricultural organisations numbered 4.3 million heads, showing an increase of 0.7% on the same date of the previous year, the number of cows being 1.4 million heads (+0.3%). The number of pigs totaled 2.8 million heads (+0,3%).
