Investment in Belarus from abroad. In the second Quarter of 2017, $4.9 billion were invested by foreign investors in the real sector of the economy (excluding banks).
The main investors of Belarusian organisations were economic entities from Russia (39.6% of the total investment), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (28.3%), Cyprus (7.4%).
Gross foreign direct investment (FDI) was $4.1bn, or 83.1% of the total foreign investment.
Investment from Belarus abroad. In the second Quarter of 2017 the outward investment of Belarusian organisations (excluding banks) totaled $2.6 billion.
Significant investment was made by organisations of the country in the economic entities of Russia (65.7% of the total outward investment),Ukraine (17.1%),the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (8%).
Direct investment accounted for 93.7% of the total investment abroad.
