In January – June 2017 the volume of industrial production in current prices was recorded at BYN 43.3 billion or 106.1% in constant prices compared with January – June 2016, with 102.5% in Mining and quarrying; 106.6% in Manufacturing; 105.5% in Electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply; and 98.4% in Water supply; waste management and remediation activities.
The index of industrial production was 106.6% for June 2017 to June 2016 and 100.6% to May 2017.
In 11 of 13 manufacturing industries the volume of industrial production for January – June 2017 exceeded the level of January – June 2016. The biggest increase was observed in Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (+21.2%); in Manufacture of products of wood and paper; printing and reproduction of recorded media (+17.2%); Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (+16.8%); in Manufacture of basic metals; manufacture of fabricated metal product, except machinery and equipment (+10.3%); in Manufacture of textile articles, wearing apparel, articles of leather and fur (+10%); and in Manufacture of electrical equipment (+9.6%).
