Crop output in farms of all types in the Republic of Belarus in 2019

In 2019 the total planted area under agricultural crops in farms of all types (agricultural organisations, private farms and household plots) was at 5901.9 thousand hectares. The agricultural organisations accounted for 90.8% of the total sown area, private farms – 2.4%, household plots – 6.9%.

In 2019, 7.3 million tonnes of grains (in weight after processing) were harvested in farms of all types, with average yield capacity 30.4 centners per hectare. The leader in grain production is Minsk region (1.9 million tonnes, or 25.9% of total grain output).

The output of potatoes in farms of all types in 2019 was at 6.1 million tonnes. One hectare of harvested area yielded 229 centners of potatoes.

The gross harvest of sugar beets in 2019 was at 4.9 million tonnes, with average yield capacity 519 centners per hectare.

In 2019, 46.2 thousand tonnes of flax fibre were produced, оne hectare of harvested area yielded 9.4 centners.

The production of vegetables was at 1.9 million tonnes, with average yield capacity 284 centners per hectare.

The production of vegetables in protected ground was at 123.8 thous. tonnes, or 6.7% of total vegetable output. The share of tomatoes in production of vegetables in protected ground is 60.9%, cucumbers – 37.9%, other vegetables - 1.2%.

The leader in production of vegetables in protected ground is Minsk region. In 2019 the region produced 56.5 thous. tones, or 45.7% of total output, of which tomatoes – 40.9 thous. tones (54.2%), cucumbers - 15.1 thous. tones (32.1%).
