Foreign investment in The Republic of Belarus from abroad and abroad from the Republic of Belarus in 2019

Investment in Belarus from abroad. In 2019, $10 billion were invested by foreign investors in the real sector of the economy (excluding banks).

The main investors of Belarusian organisations were economic entities from the Russian Federation (45.1% of the total investment), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (18%) and Cyprus (7.6%).

Gross foreign direct investment (FDI) was $7.2 billion, or 72.3% of the total foreign investment.

Investment from Belarus abroad. In 2019 the outward investment of Belarusian organisations (excluding banks) totaled $5.8 billion.

Significant investment was made by organisations of the country in the economic entities of the Russian Federation (61.9% of the total outward investment), Ukraine (15.5%) and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (9.8%).

Direct investment accounted for 91% of the total investment abroad.
