Sample survey of personal subsidiary plots of temporary rural residents in Belarus

In order to obtain official statistical information on agricultural activities of households that temporarily reside in rural areas, including data on land plots, fruit and berry plantations, and number of livestock and poultry, a one-time sample survey of personal subsidiary plots of temporary rural residents will be conducted in the country from June 11 to July 14, 2014.

The survey will cover 79 districts, 85 localities, and about three thousand households temporarily residing in rural areas (0.9% of the general population of household that temporarily reside in rural areas).

Temporary rural residents include not registered in a rural locality tenants, subtenants and owners of residential houses used for all-year, temporary or seasonal habitation.

The survey will be carried out in the form of face-to-face interview by survey specialists according to the one-time state statistical survey form 7-сх “Questionnaire on area under agricultural crops, fruit and berry plantations and number of livestock and poultry as at 11 June 2014” approved by the resolution of Belstat No. 34 of 2 May 2014.

The survey is based on the principles of voluntary participation of rural residents. The state statistics bodies shall guarantee the confidentiality of personal data received in the course of the survey. Data on individual households will be provided in the anonymized form not allowing for the identification of specific respondents, and will be used for the compilation of official statistical information on personal subsidiary plots of temporary rural residents.
