On 15 March 2018, Ms Inna Medvedeva, Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, met with Mr Paul van Oostveen, Netherlands Chargé d'Affaires a.i. in Minsk. The meeting was initiated by the Netherlands Embassy Office in Minsk.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the state statistical activities in the Republic of Belarus.
Particularly, Mr Oostveen focused on the monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals and establishment of the national list of SDG indicators in the Republic of Belarus. Ms Medvedeva told Mr Oostveen about inter-agency cooperation in compiling the national list of indicators for monitoring SDGs and plans for creation of the national reporting platform for SDGs.
The parties also addressed methodological aspects of employment and external trade statistics indicators.
In the course of the conversation Mr Oostveen noted gender equality in Belarus. In this regard, the Chairperson of Belstat informed him about the upcoming 6th round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey for monitoring the situation of children and women and plans for creation of a dedicated statistical module on “Gender statistics” on the website of Belstat..
In conclusion of the meeting the parties expressed willingness to continue cooperation.
