Deputy Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus Elena Kukharevich and Head of Labour Statistics Department Irina Bondarenko took part in the 20th International Conference of Labour Statisticians held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The forum discussed the issues related to the revision of the International Classification of Status in Employment (ICSE-93), implementation of the resolutions of the 19th International Conference of Labor Statisticians concerning statistics of work, employment and labour underutilization, statistical standards for measuring labour migration and forced labour, indicators relevant for monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals.
Within the framework of the Conference, the Belarus delegation participated in the discussion of the planned changes in the current standard for statistics of labour relations and shared experience with countries and ILO experts on issues related to statistics of work, employment and labour underutilization.
The International Conference of Labour Statisticians is held every five years and is a key event for determining the main directions of development of labour statistics at the global level by adopting resolutions and guidelines to guide countries in developing national statistical programmes, methods of data collection, concepts and definitions of labour statistics indicators, construction of national classifications.
