Deputy Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus Elena Kukharevich took part in the eighth meeting of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDG), which was held on November 5 – 8, 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The group was established by the United Nations Statistical Commission and aims to develop an indicator framework to monitor the goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the global level. The National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus has been a member of the IAEG-SDG since 2017 and represents interests of the Eastern Europe region.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the directions of further development of statistics for SDGs, the implementation of the guidelines on data flows and global reporting on SDG indicators, the results of data disaggregation activities, and also shared their experience in developing national reporting platforms for the SDGs.
