The National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus held a meeting marking a new stage in cooperation with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The Chairperson of Belstat Inna Medvedeva and UNICEF Representative in the Republic of Belarus Rustam Haydarov discussed strategic partnership issues under the upcoming UNICEF Country Programme 2026-2030.

Further strengthening of the child rights monitoring system in the country was a key focus of the negotiations. Parties stressed the importance of improving mechanisms for collecting, analyzing and disseminating relevant data on the situation of children in the country.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the next round of a Multi Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) in the Republic of Belarus. MICS is one of the most important comprehensive tools for assessing the situation of children and women, providing valuable information on a wide range of indicators. The success of this survey will provide relevant data to assess progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals and identify new challenges.

The joint initiatives of Belstat and UNICEF under the new country programme will strengthen the analytical capacity to develop effective public policies aimed at equalizing opportunities, protecting the rights and improving the living conditions of every child.
