The Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Inna Medvedeva, participated in the 74th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of CIS member States.
During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of the Project “Development of CIS statistics” in the current year and approved the work plan for 2026. The project is aimed at harmonizing statistical methodologies, developing the capacity of national statistical services and forming a unified statistical community of CIS member states.
Special attention was paid to the approval of the Work Programme of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee for 2026. The programme is aimed at enhancing cooperation between statistical services in the fields of methodology, economics, information technology activities, exchange of experience and international cooperation.
The meeting resulted in a decision on the distribution of the chairmanship of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services for 2026. The Chairperson of the Council will be the President of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Stepan Mnatsakanyan. Co-chairs appointed the Chairperson of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tahir Budagov, and the Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Inna Medvedeva.
The joint efforts of participating countries are aimed at improving the efficiency of statistical activities.
