The 7th meeting of the Eastern Partnership Expert Working Group on Statistics held in Minsk

The 7th meeting of the Eastern Partnership Expert Working Group on Statistics organized by Eurostat – the Statistical Office of the European Union with the support of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, was held in Minsk on December 4 – 5, 2018. It was attended by representatives of national statistical offices of the Eastern Partnership countries as well as European Union experts. The participants of the meeting were welcomed by Head of the European Union Delegation to Belarus Andrea Wiktorin, Chairperson of Belstat Inna Medvedeva and Head of Unit B-3 of Eurostat Avis Beneš.

The participating countries shared best practices of using administrative data sources in official statistics in order to reduce the costs of organising statistical surveys and the reporting burden on respondents, considered a number of organisational and production issues, discussed the prospects of using such data in the production process.

The participants of the meeting were also able to learn the experience of using administrative data in the production of official statistical information in the Republic of Belarus.
