Agricultural production in January-August 2026

In January-August 2026 the agricultural production in farms of all types (agricultural organisations, private farms and household plots) at current prices was BYN 25.5 billion, an increase of 6.5% at constant prices compared with January-August 2025. The agricultural production in agricultural organisations was BYN 22.7 billion, an increase of 5.9% at constant prices compared with the same period of the previous year.

The share of agricultural organisations was 97.7% of the production of livestock and poultry (in live weight), 98% of the milk production, 86.6% of the production of eggs.

The production of livestock and poultry (in live weight) in agricultural organisations was recorded at 1238 thous. tonnes, an increase of 5.3% compared with January-August 2025. The milk production was at 6226.7 thous. tonnes (+2.8%), the production of eggs was at 2304 million units (+1.1%).

As at 1st September 2026 the cattle population in agricultural organisations numbered 3.8 million heads, the number of cows being 1.3 million heads. The number of pigs totaled 2.1 million heads, the number of poultry being 51.3 million heads.

As at 1st September 2026 grains and legumes (except maize) were reaped by agricultural organisations from 98.8% of harvest area (as at 1st September 2025 – 95.1%). The grain yield in initially recorded weight was 7.5 million tonnes, the average yield capacity made up 37.8 centners per hectare of harvested area.

Rape was reaped from 94.5% of harvest area (as at 1st September 2025 – 92.4%). The rape yield in initially recorded weight was 1.4 million tonnes, an increase of 1.5 times compared with the same date of 2025; the average yield capacity made up 31.7 centners per hectare compared with 25 centners as at 1st September 2025.

Fodder conservation is in progress. As at 1st September 2026, 7.8 million tonnes of fodder (in terms of feed units) were procured in agricultural organisations, an increase of 0.4% compared with 1st September 2025, of which 4.2 million tonnes of grass fodder were procured (+4.8%). Thus, 19.9 centners of feed units of fodder were procured per livestock unit of public livestock (+2.6%), 14.5 centners of grass fodder were procured (+8.2%).
