As of September 5, 2025, 3653 education institutions implementing pre-primary education programme were functioning in Belarus with 321 thousand children enrolled. In the current school year 90.1% of children of preschool age attend education institutions implementing pre-primary education programme.
The number of places in education institutions implementing pre-primary education programme per 1000 children aged 2-5 amounted to 1084 in 2025.
The number of teachers in education institutions implementing pre-primary education programme was 54.3 thousand.
At the beginning of school year 2025/2026 there were 2817 education institutions implementing general secondary education programmes with 1.1 million pupils enrolled.
In the current school year the number of teachers (including multiple job holders) in education institutions implementing general secondary education programmes was 98.1 thousand. On average there were 11 schoolchildren per teacher, varying from 13 schoolchildren in urban schools to 6 in rural schools.
In 2025, 102.9 thousand 9-graders received basic and special-needs education certificates, 57.7 thousand school graduates received general secondary education certificates.
At the beginning of academic year 2025/2026 in Belarus there were 163 education institutions implementing vocational-technical education programmes with 71.4 thousand students enrolled.
In 2025 the intake in vocational-technical education institutions was 28.9 thousand; 94.6% of students in full-time programmes were enrolled under contracts or requests of sponsoring organisations.
In 2025 there were 22.5 thousand graduates from education institutions implementing vocational-technical education programmes. 87.4% of graduates from full-time programmes acquired two or more qualifications; 66.9% of graduates acquired advanced qualification.
At the beginning of academic year 2025/2026, 228 educational institutions implemented secondary specialized education programmes, total enrollment in which was 119.9 thousand students. There are 132 students of education institutions implementing secondary specialized education programmes per 10000 population of the country.
In total, 73.8% of secondary specialized education students and 84.7% of students enrolled in full-time programmes in public institutions of education, are funded from the budget.
In 2025 the intake in education institutions implementing secondary specialized education programmes was 38.6 thousand students; 21% of them are residing in rural settlements.
In 2025, the graduate from education institutions implementing secondary specialized education programmes was 30.9 thousand persons; 62.3% of them were funded from the budget in full-time programmes.
At the beginning of academic year 2025/2026 in Belarus 229 thousand students are enrolled in 47 education institutions implementing higher education programmes. Overall, 51.2% of total enrolled students and 62.6% of students enrolled in full-time programmes in public education institutions are funded from the budget.
In 2025 the intake in higher education institutions was 55.9 thousand students; 12.8% of them are residing in rural settlements.
In 2025 there were 46.6 thousand graduates from education institutions implementing higher education programmes.
At the beginning of academic year 2025/2026 enrollment in Master's degree programmes was 10.7 thousand.
In 2025 the intake in Master's programmes was 7.9 thousand persons, 7.9 thousand persons graduated with Master's diploma.
There are 263 students and Master's degree students of education institutions implementing higher education programmes per 10000 population of the country.
