The data book is a publication that describes the socio-economic development of the regions, districts and selected cities of the country in dynamics over a number of years.
The data book “Regions of the Republic of Belarus” is issued in two volumes.
The first volume of the publication, “Regions of the Republic of Belarus. Socio-economic indicators”, presents statistical data on demographic and environmental situation, labour resources and employment, standard of living and social sector in a breakdown by regions, cities of regional subordination and districts.
The data book provides the general characteristics of enterprises and organizations of the regions and Minsk city by economic activity, legal organizational form and ownership type. Separate subsections are dedicated to the activities of small and medium business entities.
The data on production and dynamics of the gross regional product are published. The real sector is represented by statistics by selected economic activities – industry, agriculture and forestry, construction and trade. The information on scientific and innovation activities is also provided.
The data book includes data on the financial status and fixed assets of organizations, foreign trade in goods and services, information on fixed capital investment and foreign investment. Information on price/tariff indices for goods and services and data on the use of information and communication technologies is also published.
The publication is illustrated with charts and diagrams, has cartographic material and methodological explanations.
The second volume of the publication, “Regions of the Republic of Belarus. Main socio-economic indicators of regions, cities and districts”, provides statistics by the regions, Minsk city, cities of regional subordination and districts in dynamics over a number of years.
For each region there is information about the population, unemployment rate, wages and salaries, social sector, volume of industrial production, development of agriculture, fixed capital investment and foreign investment, construction, turnover, main financial indicators of organizations' activities, etc.
