Chairperson of Belstat Inna Medvedeva met with the Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund in Belarus

On March 18, 2021, Chairperson of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus Inna Medvedeva met with Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in the Republic of Belarus Tanja Radocaj. The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Chairperson of Belstat Elena Kukharevich, Head of the International Cooperation and Statistical Information Dissemination Department Irina Mazaiskaya, and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist of the UNICEF Country Office in Belarus Vladimir Valetko also took part in the meeting.

The parties discussed the successful implementation of the joint projects for strengthening the national statistical capacity as well as plans for further cooperation.

Inna Medvedeva thanked the UNICEF Country Office for its assistance in conducting a comprehensive survey of the situation of persons with disabilities and the sixth round of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey on children and women, development of a universal web portal on child-related statistics and the National Reporting Platform for SDGs.

In turn, Tanja Radocaj expressed her confidence in the continuation of effective cooperation, including activities within the framework of the new UNICEF Country Programme for Belarus for 2021 – 2025. The parties paid special attention to the development of the methodology for assessing the quality of administrative data, integration of data from the web portal on child-related statistics into the TransMonEE database in the SDMX format, improvement of the system of monitoring the situation of vulnerable groups of the population.

The parties noted the significant potential for cooperation and confirmed their readiness to expand interaction for its full implementation.
