The II International Statistical Forum of the CIS: new technologies and data sources in statistics is being held on 2-4 October 2024 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Forum is organized as part of the implementation of the project “Development of CIS Statistics” with the support of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.
Within the session ‘New technologies of collection, processing, analysis and dissemination of statistical data’ Yury Chernyavskiy, Head of the Information Technology Department of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, reported on ‘Conceptual directions of integration of information resources in statistics’.
‘In the Republic of Belarus, consistent work on digital transformation of the economy and implementation of e-government technologies is underway. Under these conditions, new data sources are constantly emerging and the demand for high-quality official statistical information is expanding, which requires continuous improvement of digital tools used in the state statistical activities to integrate such sources into the digital ecosystem of Belstat,’ Yury Chernyavskiy said in his speech.
The representative of Belstat elaborated on the strategic objectives of the digital development of statistical production. Among the priority ones are the formation of common services for solving the whole range of tasks on collection, processing, storage and protection of primary statistical data, generation, accumulation, dissemination and presentation of official statistical information, as well as organisation of automatic intersystem interoperability between statistical information systems and state information systems on the basis of common metadata bank.
‘As a result of implementation of conceptual plans on intersystem integration, the practical use of statistical resources both by government agencies and economic entities will be significantly expanded,’ summarized Yury Chernyavskiy.
