IV CIS International Statistical Forum "New methods and technologies in statistics" takes place in Yerevan (Republic of Armenia).
The event is attended by the First Deputy Chairperson of Belstat, Tsimafei Zhyharau, the Head of the Statistical System Coordination and Development Department Tatsiana Maksimava and the Head of the Information Technology Department Yury Chernyavskiy.

In presenting the experience of Belarus on data quality assessment, Tsimafei Zhyharau noted that there are major challenges ahead for the industry: from integrating big data to boosting information processing speed by several times. "In the pursuit of speed and new technologies, we must not forget the main thing - the foundation of our work has always been, is and will be the quality of data, on which statistical information trust directly depends", - emphasized Tsimafei Zhyharau.

Taking into account international standards and recommendations, Belstat has made a unified data quality management system, developed tools for assessing the quality of government statistical observations and carried out work on the evaluation of administrative data, both on the part of owners and on the part of users - statistical authorities. "In addition, approaches are being developed to assess the quality of government data contained in government information systems. The results of this work will become an essential information resource for activities to improve the processes of obtaining and using data from various sources, - summed the First Deputy Chairperson of Belstat.
