In 2025 current expenditure on environmental protection of organizations were BYN 1 328.9 million or 106.3% at constant prices of 2024.
The structure of current expenditure on environmental protection shows that the biggest share is spent on wastewater management – 46.2% (BYN 613.3 million), on waste management – 29.3% (BYN 389.2 million), and on protection of ambient air and climate – 20.3% (BYN 269.9 million).
The main volume of the total current expenditure on environmental protection traditionally falls on the manufacturing sector (50%), water supply, waste management and remediation activities sector (29.3%) as well as electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioning supply sector (12.8%).
In 2025 the biggest amounts of funds on environmental protection were spent by organizations of Gomel (BYN 332.3 million, or 25% of the total current expenditure in the country), Vitebsk (BYN 208.6 million, or 15.7%) and Minsk (BYN 207.5 million, or 15.6%) regions.
