Methodology:

fauna monitoring is a part of the National Environmental Monitoring System in the Republic of Belarus, which is a system of observations over fauna objects and their habitats as well as assessment and forecast of development and changes under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors;

flora monitoring is a system of observations over flora objects and their habitats as well as assessment and forecast of development and changes;

fauna and flora monitoring is implemented at the national and regional levels

Data source:

the National Environmental Monitoring System;

the data producers are the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus

Relevance of the indicator:

the indicator provides a measure of the state of biodiversity in terms of the number of threatened species and the effectiveness of national responses, i.e. actions taken to conserve national and global biodiversity
