Abstract:
The data book is the most comprehensive publication of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus describing socio-economic development of the regions, districts and individual cities in 2023 in comparison with previous years.
The data book “Regions of the Republic of Belarus” is issued in two volumes.
The first volume of the publication – “Regions of the Republic of Belarus. Socio-economic indicators” contains statistical data on the main indicators by regions, cities of regional subordination and districts. Data on demographic and environmental situation in the regions are published. Information on labor resources and employment, living standards and social sphere is provided.
The data book contains general characteristics of enterprises and organisations of the regions and Minsk city by types of economic activity, organisational and legal forms and forms of ownership. Data on production and dynamics of the gross regional product are provided. Information on the state and development of industry, agriculture and trade as well as on activities of small and medium-sized businesses and individual entrepreneurs is provided. Information is given on the fixed assets of organisations.
The data book contains data on the development of information and communication technologies, scientific research and innovations, financial performance of organisations, fixed capital investments and foreign investments. Statistical data on price indices (tariffs) for goods and services are published. The characteristic of foreign trade in goods and services is provided.
The publication is illustrated with graphs and diagrams, contains cartographic material, methodological explanations.
